Here’s why no one is reading what you are writing

This happens quite often. You get a website designed, hire a blogger or a freelancer and pay them well. They write content that seems attractive and you start posting it on your site with hopes that it will market your product or service, bring website traffic, increase your sales and develop your brand.

But you don’t achieve desired traffic. You wonder what’s wrong. You hire another blogger and start publishing more frequently. Those fortnightly email newsletters become weekly. But still, no one is reading and your bills for web content writing services are soaring. So, why is that happening? Why is no one reading what you are posting?

You don’t have a professional content writing company

Okay! Writing content is not like taking notes in a class. It’s incredibly complex and therefore, you need to hire a professional company for help. Only professionals can understand your requirements, research the market, design and evaluate a strategy, implement it, re-assess it and tweak the tactics whenever needed. Although, they may seem more expensive than an in-house writer, they actually bring more benefits and higher returns on investment. Now, that’s what you want. Isn’t?

Content is ‘Boring!’

Seriously! Read your company’s content again. If you are skipping paragraphs, hopping on from one post to the other, chances are that your content is incredibly boring. There’s nothing unique in it. And when there’s nothing unique, there is no reason why anybody would read it. Your audience is savvy and they are busy. Unoriginal content would just put them off!

There’s nothing ‘niche’

If you are part of an industry, you have to go from generic ideas to specific content. Your blogposts, articles and other types of content need to cater to a particular ‘niche.’ There has to be something unique about it. For instance, if your company is about style, you can’t just write randomly on a particular style and hop onto the next topic. There has to be some consistency in your web content writing services. Like, a set of topics can cater to female fashion, or they could all be about jewelry or shoes and purses or whatever it is that you are selling. Create a niche market. Don’t just compete with your customers. Instead, find out what can set you apart.

Your readers are real

Page-views and website hits are essential for developing your brand. But if you are uploading content just for the sake of a few clicks, then you aren’t doing your company any favors. Remember that the reader on the other side of the computer or the phone is a real person. Your long term strategy shouldn’t be focused on page-views or unique visitors to the website. Instead, it should revolve around hiring the right kind of professional content writing company that considers readers as real people, where content actually resolves a person’s problem or query. Or else, it keeps the reader entertained.

Once you do that, your website will start getting views and your content will be read.
