Here comes the Practical and Versatile MPV - the Toyota Sienta

The Toyota Sienta is a five-door minivan with sliding doors marketed and manufactured from 2003 to the present by Toyota, with 161.4 inches length, 66.7 inches width, and  65.7 inches height. The first Toyota Sienta received a facelift in 2006 with new colors like Apple Green Metallic Blue, and Gun-Metal Grey with a dual electric-powered sliding door. It is now in its second-generation which was released from 2015 to the present.

Engine and Performance

The first-generation Toyota Sienta is equipped with1.5L VVT-i petrol engine producing 110 hp (111PS) at 6000 rpm with a CVT gearbox, and an electronic brake-force distribution and anti-lock braking system standard. The Toyota Sienta’s first generation was designed by Hiroaki Hakamata while the 2006 facelifted model was designed by Takumi Sasaki. It comes with a front-engine, four-wheel-drive (NCP85G) in the Japanese market and a front-engine, front-wheel-drive (NCP81G). 

The second-generation Toyota Sienta is fitted with the 1.5L 2NR-FKE VVT-iE inline-4 petrol (Japan), 1.5L 1NZ-FXE inline-4 hybrid petrol (Japan), 1.5L 1NZ-FE inline-4 petrol (Japan), 1.5L 2NR-FE inline-4 petrol (Taiwan and Southeast Asia), 1.8L 2ZR-FAE inline-4 petrol (Taiwan) coupled with Super CVT-I gearbox automatic transmission and E-CVT for the Japan market, while other options come with a 6-speed manual. The fuel consumption according to the JC08 cycle test is 20.6 km/L for the non-hybrid variant.

Interior and Exterior

The second generation of Toyota Sienta was unveiled in 2015 that comes with a large front grille, new exterior design, a front and rear bumper trimmings that linked to the headlamps. It offers 3 interior seat designs with 7 seaters, 6 seaters, and 5 seaters which are reserved for wheelchair users. The interior space has improved compared to the previous generations.

The features included are necessities like double-DIN audio, navigation system with CD/DVD/USB/AUX, Bluetooth, video monochrome digital multi-information display/MID, projector headlamps, a single blower AC, a manual sliding door, immobilizer, double disc brakes with ABS, EBD and BA and 15-inch wheels.
