by Shruti Das Interior designer
The kitchen is a place where a person spends time not only preparing and eating food, but also just having a hearty conversation with friends and acquaintances. To make it as pleasant and comfortable as possible, it is desirable that the kitchen headset is beautiful, original and comfortable.

After all, when everything is at hand, and lockers, countertops and aprons pleasing to the eye, then it is a pleasure to be in such a kitchen. Another thing is that it is not always possible to find furniture from the standard range that meets all requirements. And so a great solution in this situation is a modular furniture for the kitchen. With its help, you can optimally design the space of a room at least small, at least large, taking into account individual needs.

Modular kitchen - a headset, assembled from individual modules: lockers, shelves, countertops, frames for built-in appliances, other additional elements. They can be combined as you wish, arranged in different order, swapped over time, easily replaced when something breaks down. The advantage of the modules is also that in the shop you can buy only the most necessary of them, which will always be actively involved in the kitchen.

Advantages of modular kitchens

Modular kitchen  furniture has several advantages:

  1. Ideal for small kitchens. Even if the kitchen room is 5-6 square meters, it can accommodate individual modules and be placed in a certain way.
  2. Easy to assemble and disassemble. The lockers are easy to assemble on their own and to change certain elements that will be damaged during use. It is not difficult to assemble them on the wall either: it is enough to draw a straight line on the wall, drill holes at a certain distance, install plugs, screw screws, hang modules on them and do not spend money on the services of craftsmen;
  3. It's universal. Tired of any module? It can be easily dismantled and installed in its place by another, diversifying the interior. The old one doesn't need to be thrown away - it's enough to install it in another room or disassemble it, take it to the country house and mount it there. Another option - to change the modules in place;
  4. Functional. You can choose the type and number of modules, their depth and height, pick up the opening-closing mechanisms, combine cabinets as you like and install them anywhere - even under the ceiling.

Shortcomings of modular kitchens

  1. Longevity. Modules are mainly made of cheap materials, which need special care. If water gets on the edges of the walls of cabinets they can swell up and have to change them;
  2. The presence of foreign smells. Quite often, modular furniture made of MDF, chipboard, LDF not smell the best, and this smell does not disappear for a long time and is poorly removed by special means. This smell is caused by the use of chemical impurities in furniture production.
