Healthier Ways to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth
I’ve always been a person who simply cannot resist sweets. Although I'm not proud of that, but I can't help it. I'm simply one of those people that needs something sweet after dinner. It doesn’t need to be Lindt chocolate, just something sweet that will satisfy my sweet tooth.
But, who am I kidding?! Let's be honest for a minute. The food that will satisfy our sweet tooth isn't a healthy snack or meal. However, there are still some healthy low-sugar options and good natural sugar substitutes that can satisfy our sweet tooth. Here are some less guilty ways to fight those frequent cravings for sweet.
Chocolate-Dipped Strawberry – Use a milk chocolate as a semi-sweet jacket on superfoods, like strawberries! If you want a healthier version, use dark chocolate. Dip the strawberry in the melted chocolate and put it in the refrigerator until the chocolate coating has hardened.
Frozen Chocolate Banana – The second sweet and healthier treat you can enjoy is a frozen banana coated with chocolate. This is delicious frozen sweet treat that can satisfy your sweet tooth! What you need to do is to peel a banana, cut into two equal parts and freeze it. Let it sit in the fridge at least 2 hours. After that, take out and roll the banana halves in melted dark chocolate. For extra pleasure, you can roll it in any crunchy topping like, granola, nuts or sprinkles. Put it back in the freezer at least an hour. Bon Appetit!
Healthy Ice Cream – The following recipe for healthy ice cream will just blow your mind, but in a good way. It's heavenly tasty, low-calorie ice cream, so you can literally eat how much you want. You will need 2 peeled frozen bananas, 1 tbs cocoa, 100ml (rice, soy milk) – the milk is optional, 1/2 tsp brown sugar or you can use some good natural sugar substitutes like Stevia. At the end mix all together in a blender and put it back in the freezer. If you want more fruity flavour you can add raspberries, cherries, chokeberries, strawberries or whatever you want.
Fresh Fruit – It is so simple! Any piece of fresh fruit can offer enough natural sugar to fill those cravings. The next time fight those cravings for sweet with fruit.
Trail Mix And Dark Chocolate - A small healthy mix of nuts like almonds, cashew, hazelnut and some pieces of dried fruit (like grape, cranberries, cherries) and some small pieces of dark chocolate will make a great snack mix with good nutritional value.
