Health Benefits of Superfood Flax-Flax Seed

Flaxseeds, which are dark brown in color and shiny, have earned their place among the health foods. Many researches have proved that tiny flax seeds are packed with many benefits. There are also three main elements found in it: 1. Omega-3 essential fatty acids, 2. Lignans and 3. Fiber. In addition, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) in it is useful for women in heart disease, increasing immunity, removing infertility. 

Based on the findings of various researches, the omega-3 fatty acids in flax seeds have been found to have a beneficial effect on heart health. Due to this, it helps to prevent the reduction of the elasticity of the arteries due to the effect of atherosclerosis caused by the accumulation of fat in the arteries. 1 tablespoon of flax seed powder provides 1.8 grams of plant omega-3. In addition, flax seed benefits cardiovascular function as a result of the antioxidant effect of other elements in it. Flax seed consumption also benefits high blood pressure by reducing arterial stiffness and tension. 

The findings suggest that the lignans and natural phytoestrogens in flaxseed have the potential to protect against breast cancer. Flax seeds can be used along with drugs used in breast cancer. A study found that taking two tablespoons of flax seed powder daily was beneficial in treating postmenopausal symptoms of estrogen deficiency. However, during pregnancy and breastfeeding mothers should avoid the use of flax seeds. 

The oily content in flaxseed provides useful fat in the body. Its use has been found to reduce LDL-bad cholesterol and increase HDL-cholesterol. But to test the usefulness of flaxseed in this experiment, it is also necessary to know how much other fatty foods were eaten or completely stopped. Sedentary life with foods rich in fried foods, oily food, excess sugar etc. No exercise at all and 3 teaspoons of linseed powder per day will not lower or improve cholesterol. The hot and pungent qualities of flaxseed described in Ayurveda are opposed to the cold and dull qualities of fat. According to Ayurveda's 'reverse slimming' anti-reduction properties, flaxseed helps in fat loss, if used properly. 

What does Ayurveda say? 

Flaxseed – a superfood popular with linseed oil, mentions in Ayurvedic texts such as Sushruta’s use of linseed testing by the Maharishis. Which is understood by description - suggestion in various places. Ayurveda mentions the medicinal properties of flaxseed by eating it as a medicine and in external treatment.

Flaxseed is mentioned by Sanskrit names like Uma, Rudrapatni, Kshaumi, Survachala etc. Flaxseeds are white and night two. In which night-dark brown is specially used. Flaxseed taste – is bitter and sweet. It is viscous and after digestion is heavy and produces bitter juice. Linseed is considered Ushnavirya-garam after digestion and digestion. Apart from this, it is said to be harmful to eyesight and debilitating to Venus. Based on analysis based on principles of Dravyaguna science of Ayurveda like Rasa, Guna, Vipaka and Veerya, individual nature, disease and appropriate dosage – the prescribed usage can be prescribed by the Veeda. Hence gross information that if flax gets hot, damages the eyes or reduces sperm will be misleading. Proper use of various substances, proportionate use can be medicine. 

However, keeping in mind the blood-thinning property of flaxseed, people suffering from problems such as dysentery, snoring, excessive menstruation should be advised to use it. 

Various uses 

If there is more fat in the body, more weight, frequent desire to eat, they should roast a few linseeds and chew a table spoon two or three times a day. The fat, fiber in it cures bad appetite. 

Viscous fiber in flaxseed cures constipation. However, drinking 1 table spoon powder in 1 glass of water after roasting it into powder is useful for regular bowel movements in irritable bowel syndrome patients. Frequent diarrhea is cured. 

Patients with bleeding piles may benefit from 3 to 5 ml of the oil in food. 

Use of linseed oil, seeds is beneficial in respiratory diseases. 

Using Flaxid oil gives good results in bipolar disorder, ADHD, menopausal syndrome. 

Empirical experience: Flaxseeds – soaked in sweet turmeric, roasted in small amounts regularly can benefit from its properties.
