The Toyota Chaser
is a classic JDM car that is not really well known to the mainstream, only to
the true JDM enthusiasts. The first generation of the Toyota Chaser was
produced in 1977 as a 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan. The coupe type was stopped
in later iterations of the model.
This model was
in production until 2000, for a total of 6 generations. While in production,
the key feature of the Chaser was more about car economy rather than
performance. As such, the chaser had slightly smaller engine capacities in
comparison to similar sized models.
Luxurious Design
The Toyota
Chaser was one of the first models to set new standards for luxury in the
Japanese automobile industry. Luxury and convenience combined gave rise to a
high demand for this type of vehicle.
The interior
color is selectable as black or dark brown, each of which has been carefully
designed to coordinate with the exterior color scheme to reflect the subtlety
and sophistication that modern drivers seek in automobiles.
As for the seat, there are 4 different types,
which are suitable for different model levels. The exterior design of the
Toyota Chaser is compact, but provides ample internal space and adds an
enlarged window area to bring a relaxed, roomy feel to the car. By reducing the
noise and engine roars and various other vibrations, a quieter ride also
improves comfort. Seats with good damping and retention characteristics have
been installed in the Chaser, while the driver's seat can be adjusted
vertically with rubber mounts. The radio speakers are located on the door
panels on both sides, greatly improving the overall excellence and feel of the
car.
The Chaser’s
exterior body style incorporates innovative proportions, highlighting the
elegance and sportiness of a luxury car. The outer contour is designed for the
best aerodynamic characteristics of that time further improving fuel
efficiency.
