Harmful Impacts of Ignoring Proper Waste Management
by Waste Dis Waste Disposal and RemovalAt our homes and offices, etc.,
we all claim to follow waste management procedures very seriously, but deep
inside in our hearts, we all realise that we are not putting in the efforts to
the topmost potential. Yes, we are still not serious about the regularly
deteriorating condition of our environment, ecosystem and so on and handling
waste disposal, bulk waste collection processes very carelessly. The negative
effects of this carelessness started showing decades back and these effects are
still visible very clearly in the form of climate change, global warming, ozone
layer depletion sand so on. Some locally felt impacts are there too and we have
covered them here in this article.
Soil Contamination
Whatever waste we are generating,
the maximum part is plastic and we expect it to go to recycling centres and
come back to us in different forms. But this is not happening and the reality
is totally different that the maximum part of the garbage is ending up at
landfill sites and from there, it is spreading soil contamination even right
now when you are reading these lines. This contamination occurs by spilling and
burying hazardous components in soil and the remedy to this is careful and
complete processing of these waste materials like petroleum, hydrocarbons,
solvents, pesticides, heavy metals and lead.
Water Contamination
According to waste disposal
Adelaide companies, water is an excellent solvent and a number of chemicals can
dissolve in it with extreme ease. This might be sounding very soothing, but the
downside of this activity is that these chemicals dissolve and pollute the
water and this is what is presently happening all across the globe. Due to
inappropriate garbage disposal methods and so on, the current situation is that
our neighbourhood fountain, pond, lake or even drinking water taps are
susceptible to the dangers of contamination.
And Who Are The Victims?
Basically, we all are the
victims, but the worst sufferers are the aquatic animals and because of this, aquatic
ecosystem is getting imbalanced on a very serious note.
Extreme Weather Caused By
Climate Change
Landfill sites across the
globe are the biggest generators of greenhouse gasses and these gasses rise up
to the atmosphere and trap heat. This heat is causing the temperature of the
earth to rise and because of this climate change is occurring that is causing
extreme weather conditions. Currently, we might be at ease thinking that this
is not effective us as individuals, but the fact is that each and every human
being is getting affected. There are things like acid rain, increased level of
precipitation in the air; hail storms, floods, etc. and they are all the
results of this climate change. This also spreads out into other areas with
regards to subdivisions such as thermal and radioactive pollution.
Air Contamination
Governments and landfill site
managers think that incineration is the easiest method to get rid of the garbage,
but rubbish removal experts have a different take on this. They say that this
burning of different kinds of garbage generates toxic smoke that continues to
float within the air and make it "toxic air". This toxic air that
mostly contains methane has played the biggest role as far as ozone layer
depletion is concerned and not to mention that it is damaging us, the humans as
we inhale it every single second of the day.
