Featuring a wide variety of festive, colorful floats and marching bands from across the globe, the 127th Tournament of Roses Parade takes place Friday afternoon in Pasadena, California, ahead of No. 5 Iowa and No. 6 Stanford’s Rose Bowl showdown.

This year’s theme, “Find Your Adventure,” aims to honor the country’s national parks and wildlife, and will feature 92 floats and 20 marching bands while award-winning documentary filmmaker Ken Burns serves as Grand Marshal.

Per tradition, the five-and-a-half-mile route will wind its way through downtown Pasadena between Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard and wind down at Villa Street.

This year spectators should also be aware of heightened security precautions. According to the Los Angeles Times, purses, backpacks, and even fanny packs won’t be allowed inside the stadium and the Department of Homeland Security will be examining trucks entering the area with x-ray technology.

Several broadcast and cable outlets will air the parade. NBC’s coverage starts its coverage at 11 am ET with a pre-show and airs the parade 30 minutes later. ABC’s will commence at the same time and both will end at 1 pm ET. Home repair and renovation network HGTV follows the same schedule as the broadcast outlets, while Hallmark Channel’s coverage lasts until 4 p.m. ET. KTLA also offers the local broadcast.
