The followers of Islam has been eating halal food since the inception of their religion, but these days even others are adopting the trend.

For your information, halal food is not a buzzword, it is a concept and it is an etiquette to eat right food. When an animal is slaughtered as per proper Islamic guidelines, the animal is called halal and can be eaten. Most of the people in the world understand the halal process and that is why it is easier to find the best halal dishes in Canada well. Now, if you are invited for a company lunch or dinner that is going to be a buffet thing, and you have been told that the best halal dishes will be served there, you should still be cautious of picking up the right ones for you. Understanding a little deeper about the concept of Halal, people who eat halal food are not allowed to eat the following:

1.     Pork

No matter how a pig is slaughtered, pork is considered illegitimate and believers of Islam will never touch Pork under any circumstances. When you are out to eat buffet, you should be careful about the food that has been presented on the table. If you see any display board written with Pork, you should take a back seat and not go near to the same. Many a time the caterers write pink meat instead of Pork, so be aware of this.

2.    Animals who are dead before they are slaughtered

There are many butchers who sell dead animals. However, the animals should be alive and healthy when they are slaughtered. One cannot consider dead meat as halal and eat. Allah has already forbidden to eat dead animals for they are not hygienic and they can harm our bodies in many ways.

3.    Animals who are not slaughtered properly

Slaughtering is a comprehensive process. As per the halal slaughtering, the animal should be cut from four main arteries namely jugular vein, jugular artery, wind pipe and food pipe. The animal should be cut off the neck properly.

4.   Blood

Consuming the blood of animals is considered illegitimate no matter it is presented in any form. This is also considered impure and that is why, while hiring a caterer for your buffet you should see to it that the chefs are cleaning the meat properly before the meat is kept for cooking. Further, the meat should be well done and not raw. Raw meat cannot be consumed as it is harmful for our health.

5.  Alcoholic Drinks

While checking out your team buffet, ensure that you stay away from any counter serving alcohol. There are certain dishes that are cooked with alcohol and when you find something fishy about any dish, you should immediately ask the person on the counter before taking it in.

We believe that when most of the people attending the buffet prefer halal food, the company should ensure that they call a catered who knows to cook halal food properly. You can reach out to us for help.
