Gurez Valley - Places to Visit

Gurez or Gurais valley is located in the high Himalayas about 86 KM from Bandipore and 123 KM from Srinagar. Gurez valley is like heaven on earth. It is the most delightful place in entire Kashmir. This glory of Kashmir is filled with beautiful sights, such as the sky being blue, pine trees, and the river is covered with green and silver. The roaring of the Kishan Ganga River flows across the valley, along with mountain climbing, and trekking routes, Trout fishing is an amazing sport. With the limitless adventure destination in its northern areas, it is also a silk route across central Asia. Gurez valley is the best offbeat destination across India. 

It is a most mesmerizing peak in Gurez valley. It is in a form of a pyramid. It was named after Habba Khatoon a Kashmiri Muslim poet who lived in a saffron village called Chandhara also referred to as the nightingale of Kashmir. She was very beautiful and intelligent. While visiting the Habba Khatoon Peak you enjoy the freshwater flowing through the huge rocks.  The mountain stands by the Kishan Ganga River and gives a spectacular sparkling view. Some people believe that this water has medicinal qualities.

Dawar is the prettiest village in the Bandipore district. It’s a central block of Gurez Valley. It is the prettiest village in Gurez valley. It is a picturesque place that is settled in the deep valleys. This incredible village has spectacular sight views. You enjoy the real life of villagers, staying in the wooden house and living with nature made you alive and, in the evening, enjoy the sunset view with the beautiful flow of the river. 

It is the highest point between Gurez and Bandipora roads. A perfect place for those who love thrilling activities and desire adventure. It gives you breathtaking views of mountains and deep narrow valleys. Zigzag and twisting turning roads through deep valleys snow covered mountains peaks make your journey memorable. It gives tourists a splendid view of Harmukh Mountain.

It begins with Barnoi and it’s at the end of Dawar there is a district name Tulail also known as Tilail. It mainly lies on the bank of the Kishan Ganga River. In the southeast areas, there is sparkling freshwater. The local people are busy with fishing. River’s melody sounds bring a sense of peace to you. Beautiful valley, soaring mountains, sparkling rivers water, and soaring mountain view make it more attractive. The flawless beauty of the Tulail Valley makes you realize the sheer beauty of this place. 

Located between the Sind River in the south and the Kishan Ganga River or Neelum River in the north and is located in the Ganderbal district of Kashmir, Harmukh Mountain peak elevation of the mountain is 16,870ft. The climbing will be very challenging, enjoyable, and adventurous for adrenaline junkies is a must-visit place. The top of the mountain is covered with snow which makes it more attractive. It rises above Gangabal Lake located in the neighborhood of the beautiful Kashmir Valley. The borderline of the Karakoram Ranges makes it more elegant and charming. 

Wular Lake is the 2nd largest fresh-water lake in Asia located on the base of Haramuk Mountain. The area of the lake is about 200 square KM. Lies between the towns of Sopur and Bandippore and nearby Baramula Road. This lake has a small, beautiful island named ‘Zaina Lank’. It is home to many species of Flora and Fauna. This lake allows tourists to too many fun-filled water activities including boating and water skiing and evening stroll around the lake and enjoying picnics on its bank. This lake attracts birdwatchers to spot many terrestrial birds and Himalayas woodpeckers, Alpine Swift, and Himalayan Monal. Wular lake is a center of attraction in Kashmir valley. Wular Lake offers breathtaking views and majesty. 

Gurez Valley is full of nature. After reaching Gurez Valley you will find the natural beauty. The first thing you can do here is enjoying the peace and quietness, the freshwater of Habba Khatoon Waterfall, and the twisted road of Razdan Pass which can make your trip more adventurous. While coming down from Razdan Pass you will be greeted by the Kishan Ganga River where you can do river rafting and see the beautiful view of lakes you can also spend time by watching Gurez Festivals that are held for 3 days, several spots for camping like on the Kishan Ganga River and the entire valley is full of natural beauties where you can click most stunning pictures and these natural beauties make it different from any other place.
