by Sean Williamson Writer

Have you been surrounded by people who excite everyone’s interest or concern? There is something about them that makes people attracted to them. The way they manage to sound confident while delivering a speech, maintain eye contact and have powerful body language speak volumes of their strong personality. Now you may be wondering how you can manage to do that. If you are a professional, willing to have a similar personality, you first need to understand that it takes more than a few business courses and educational degrees to develop a strong personality and make your body language appealing to your audience. However, anyone can develop such personality traits. All you have to do is focus on learning the required skills to master the art of having a strong personality.

If you genuinely want to acquire an attractive personality to convince your clients, seniors, and boss for varying reasons, keep reading this article as we share some helpful ways to help you excel in this art.

1 Be helpful

The first step to developing a great personality is to be helpful. No, we are not talking about pretending to be helpful; you genuinely have to be as helpful as you can be. For instance, your colleague needs some help related to work. Try guiding them and if you are not a pro at it, make sure you suggest them to reach out to someone who can be of help to them. Unbelievably, you will get ultimate satisfaction; it will reflect on your personality development and your face, as well.

2 Work on being calm and confident

Do you have the habit of biting your nails when your boss calls you or when you have to give a presentation in front of your boss, clients, and colleagues? Well, this habit is bound to make you look unconfident. Don’t ever give the audience the slightest clue that you are having a feeling of uneasiness, nervousness, and anxiety.

When you have to pitch an idea in front of a large audience, just be sure you are calm and confident. Your posture and body language are likely to eliminate the fear of failure and boost your self-esteem instantly. If don’t know the possible ways to have an impressive body language, try watching videos online to see how it’s done. In order to do that, you need to be connected to kinetic internet connection so you can watch similar videos without any disruption or lag.

3 Stop doubting yourself

Are you a genuine person and know exactly how to carry yourself but you are unable to express yourself properly due to lack of confidence? Chances are, you dread if you are speaking right or not. Also, you keep thinking about what people will think of you or have this fear in you that people will make fun of you. Such self-doubt questions will do nothing but hold you back in life. You really need to stop doubting yourself in order to make yourself heard.

4 Learn from the mistakes you make and move on

If you always make mistakes while learning something new, know that the most important life lessons are learned from the mistakes you make. You are likely to make a mistake that will hurt somebody in the long run; so be willing to apologize and do something to make it up to them. When you accept your mistake and apologize, you are likely to make a respectful corner among your colleagues. It is not just enough to apologize to others, but you also have to forgive yourself for the mistakes you made. Once you forgive yourself, you are bound to move on. By making mistakes, you successfully develop the wisdom to make better decisions in the days to come. If you keep learning and try to improve yourself, you are much better than people who are never ready to accept their mistakes.

5 Consider socializing more

In this age of networking, you need to ensure you socialize with people more often. When you go for outings with your friends and/or colleagues, your knowledge about different things will increase and you will gain enough confidence to travel on your own. On top of that, by socializing with people, you learn when to speak and how to interact confidently. When you hang out with people from different walks of life, you learn when and how to say no to others.

6 Smile

Are you about to pitch an idea? Just make sure you make your audience feel comfortable. Now you may be wondering how? Well, just give a smile while discussing your ideas; in turn, the audience will be relaxed and end up believing in your idea. Also, when a question comes from your colleague, you should appreciate them for asking it away and answer it with a smile on your face just to boost their confidence.
