Acidity is not an extremely acute disease but more than half of the population suffers from it time and again. It is a common problem which does not let us enjoy anything once it sets in. So, what if you ate that extra slice of food or an extra helping of the biryani you so like? That doesn’t mean you have to be punished with acid reflux. But, sometimes you just can’t help it.



You feel that acid regurgitating in your chest and mouth, that sour, foul taste in the back of your mouth and your heart burns like it burnt right after that first break-up. It is acidity, you know now but you feel like there isn’t much to do for it. At least not for quick relief. So, you sit still and try to endure the pain and discomfort.

But, we have to tell you that there are a number of quick fixes for relief from acidity. These are things which can easily be done at home combining both relief methods found at home as well as effective antacids which you can buy.

Let’s look at this list of things for quick relief for acidity:

Antacids- Antacids like Eno which come in powder form mixed with water as well as the chewable tablet form are a great way to instantly relive oneself from acidity. Not only do you feel better in no time, it is available in a number of different flavors which helps not leave the salts in your mouth and leaves no bad taste either.

They have a quick dissolve formula generally and help you recover faster.

Tulsi Leaves- Another little remedy can be chewing on six to seven tulsi leaves. The tulsi or basil allows the body or rather encourages it to produce more mucous to fight out the effect of gastric acids which must have increased.

Lemon Tea- Mildly brewed black tea with a little wedge of lemon helps counter the extra acid which has been produced in the body. It allows for the stomach acids to settle down well and helps relax the discomfort.
 
Aniseed- This is another thing used to provide quick relief for acidity. Chewing on a few aniseed or saunf will counteract on the ulcer like properties of acid reflux. You can also boil a few and leave the water overnight for you to drink in the morning.

Bananas- Bananas which are an excellent source of potassium can be something used to tackle acidity. A ripe or an overripe banana can keep the acid production in your stomach under check. The high fiber content also helps digest food faster.


If you’re lying down and can’t get up, or if you’re caring for someone who is confined to bed and is experiencing heartburn, try raising the upper body. The goal is elevation from the waist up. make use of positioning wedges and rolls is you don't have an adjustable bed.
