Reducing the amount of water used is one of the first steps in conserving water. And that’s why we have smart meters that help us measure the amount of water used and thereby reduce wastage. Every drop used in the Godrej Aqua Bangalore project is recycled with a precise three-step sanitization process. This process first begins with the Grey Water Treatment Plant. It then goes to the Swale where the water is purified naturally by plants and filter media within a giant trough specially designed to treat wastewater. After this, the water is sent to the Advanced Treatment Plant where it goes through Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ultra Filtration (UF), and UV or ionization disinfection processes. And finally, the water is clean enough to be pumped back into the home for domestic uses.

The swale method of water purification mimics the purification process found in nature. The swale at Godrej Aqua International Airport Road is crafted to clean and decontaminate surface runoff, removing contaminants and pollutants as the water flows through the wetland system. /280-meter long natural swale integrated with the landscape / Nature-identical process / Unique species of plants along with filter media remove most contaminants.

The water that is left over after the entire process of recycling takes place goes into recharging and reactivating borewells that lie dormant. We also assist the refresh process by using 55 kl of wastewater from houses daily for farming during non-rainy seasons.
