Fort Tiracol is also called Terekhol Fort which located in north Goa district. It was built by Maharaja Khem Sawant Bhonsle in 17th century. It is placed just mouth of the Tiracol River. Fort has 12 cannons which were used to guard of the Fort. The Fort Tiracol captured by Portuguese in 1746 from Sawantwadi King. The fort was part of the Portuguese colony till 1961. Goa state is a most famous tourist attraction in India territory which has lots of tourist attractions. Goa tourist place lots of people come from all over world daily.

How can reach: It is well connected with all Indian major cities via rail, road and air. Tourist can easily access via NH-17 road. It is just 58 kilometers far from Panjim city capital. It is just 89 kilometers distance from Margao city. It is 81 kilometers distance from Dabalim international airport.

Tourist attractions: Terekhol Fort has many tourist attractions like old Church of St. Anthony, ferry trip, Arabian sea, fort trip, bank of the Tiracol River and heritage hotel.  Goa Government Fort Tiracol gave on lease to convert as heritage hotel. So, Fort Tiracol is converted as Heritage hotel.Generally fort church dose not open to public visit. The Fort Tiracol was used as prison during Portuguese Civil War from 1828 to 1834.
