North America
Balchem is the only company which produces choline chloride in North America. Production of choline chloride is their core business. The animal applications accounted for 70% of the turnover, revenue of drilling operations is 40 million, which accounts for 16% of total revenue. It is estimated that choline businesses represented more than 80% of revenue. The other revenue represented business of selling methylamine and ethylene oxide.
A factory was acquired from DCV in 2001, production capacity of 20KT100% CC, it was expanded in 2011.
B factory was acquired from Bio Additives in 2006, production capacity of 30,000 tons of liquid.
C factory was built in the autumn of 2012, and has made its capacity expansion doubled.
D factory is Mexico Celanese acquired from DCV in 2000.
Europe
Anti-monopoly investigation for choline chloride in 1999, out the report in 2004, involving manufacturers: Akzo Nobel, Basf, Bioproducts, UCB, DCV, Chinook and other companies, occurrence of a more far-reaching impact on the industry pattern.
It has sold Italian factory of 15KT output to Balchem company. It has sold original Dutch factory of 7.5KT output and Chinese factory of 15KT output to to Taminco company.
Basf company: Originally it had factories in German, Brazil, Mexico, Thailand. At present, only factory in German makes a small amount of production, its production capacity is 15KT.
Bioproducts company: Previously it was one of the three big companies of devices in North America, it had a device of 14KT in North America.
Chinook company: Previously it was one of the three big companies of devices in North America, Chinook had a 20KT device in Canada. Balchem purchased Chinook in 2007.
UCB company: After integration, Taminco company has a factory in Belgium, which production capacity is 14KT.It purchases device from CEPSA and Akzo Nobel. UCB’s production capacity is 30+KT.
CEPSA company: It had a small device in Spain, but then it sold the divice to Taminco company.
Algry company: It is a historic company and turned off the device in 1999, and then established a new factory in the southern region of Spain.
Middle East
PMD company: It operates the factory with Balchem together. Middle East itself has 15KT market demand. The feed industry has grown rapidly in the Middle East.
Southern Asia
Balaji company: The device is very small, only for handling their own production of trimethylamine.
TCC and Jubilant: Plant operating rates will be relatively high, because the surrounding area demand is 30KT.
Japan
Japanese manufacturers have technic and EO. Japanese annual demand (is) 9KT. Imports 3KT from China.
China: China is the largest choline chloride production country in the world.
Only Havay Chemicals company can product 15 million tons per year.
