November 12th is National Blanket Day! National Blanket Day is a relatively new holiday, with a very important cause/message. National Blanket Day was created in 2015 by a homeless man, who said all he wished for during Thanksgiving was to spend time helping his homeless family. He started the trend of handing out free blankets to other homeless people, along with some hot chocolate. He also encourages others around the world to do the same thing on November 12th.

Simple blankets do a lot to help the homeless. Blankets provide warmth and shelter to the homeless, and they can help with the anxiety that comes with living on the streets.
