Gift Ideas for Christmas

During Christmas, what type of gift should you buy for that special someone? Should it be a wristwatch, phone, bicycle, bag or shoes? The list can go on and on. Truth is, we often get stuck on ideas of what to present and after buying we keep wondering if we had chosen the right gift and they would love them. When giving someone a gift, you don’t have to spend a fortune to impress the receiver. The sincerity and thoughtfulness behind picking that particular gift item is what matters.

Now let’s look at the categories of people you usually have in your circle and the appropriate gift to get them.

#First Category is your Spouse:

For a spouse: Jewelries/Jewelry box, something to wear (clothes, sexy lingerie, perfume, shoes, bag, tie, cuff links), Wallet, Kitchen equipment, Artwork (a drawing of your spouse), Camera, laptop, Smartphone or book a romantic getaway in Nigeria. Think of something he/she has always wanted all year – Kitchen equipment that will make cooking easier for her, a briefcase or organizer to help him at work.

#Second Category is the Kids:

Kids will always talk about one thing they would love to have starting from the beginning of the year all through, it is not always to difficult to pick an item for them. All kids love bicycles (I think), Games and Consoles, tablet (there are ranges of educational tablets to pick from) and Toys. No amount of games and toys you can buy for your kids, they will never get tired and get over excited about them.

It will be off to buy clothes and shoes, that is a MUST buy, those are even purchased before Christmas. Don’t cheat your kids and play a fast one on them, don’t buy textbooks for next term/session and present as gifts, they would probably just smile like they appreciate it or not at all.

#Third Category is Parents:

Parents: Even when they are far away from you, sending Christmas gifts when you cannot/or you visit is a good way to show you truly care and have them in mind. If you are wondering how to send the gifts over long distances (if they stay far away), you can always always order online from sites that do home deliveries. Types of gifts: Food, hamper, Wine, Blanket, A framed picture of both parents/family, Picture frame, Kitchen Items, Washing Machine, Microwave, and Kitchen equipment.

#Fourth Category is Friends:

They are lots of things one can get for a friend, these are not limited to anything buy able or you can think of, one must however be careful when choosing a gift item for a friend of the opposite sex. Gift items for friends can include: tickets to a show/concert/movie, gadgets, chocolates, wines, assorted biscuits, hamper. No limit to items to get a friend, it can even be as little as a key holder that made you think of that person when you saw it.

#Fifth Category is Colleagues:

 

Stay out of trouble when giving your colleague a gift, don’t give them gifts that will give them ideas. Stay away from things (like lingerie) that will insinuate you have interest in them when you actually don’t. The best is always a hamper!
