Getting married on TV?

Minutes after Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski announced their engagement on Instagram, the media bidding war would have begun.

Shunning a traditional magazine deal to announce their happy news, the couple instead posted a single photo of their hands and the diamond ring on social media.

But for the couple's nuptials, no doubt seven-figure deals will be thrown across the table for the popular pair.

Still going strong: Blake's second runner-up Louise Pillidge, whom he chose to be with following his split from Sam, has moved to Perth but the couple haven't taken their relationship to the next level yet

Despite The Bachelor stars low key engagement during a family holiday in Sam's hometown of Tasmania, it's expected their wedding will be a lot more high-profile.

If the US Bachelor is anything to go by, couples who tie the knot on-screen have been paid in excess of one million dollars for the rights to the wedding.

The first such TV extravaganza came from The Bachelorette's Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter in 2003.

The couple had a three-part series on their wedding, that was watched by over 26 million people in the States, making it one of the most viewed episodes of any reality TV show in history.

Their wedding photo was also on the cover of People magazine and they returned to the front cover with their two children in January 2014, marking their tenth wedding anniversary.

American fans waited over five years for the next Bachelor-related wedding.

Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney married in February 2010 with similar fan fare to the Sutters.

While another four years on, The Bachelor's Sean Lowe tied the knot with Catherine Giudici in the franchise's first ever live TV wedding in January 2014.

As there've been no weddings to have come from The Bachelor Australia, no standard has been set for how much Sam and Snezana could reap from their union.

Season one couple Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich are yet to even get engaged, despite being together for two years, since their series of the show aired in 2013.

There were rumours the couple could get their own reality TV show, similar to Newlyweds, but nothing was ever formally announced.

'It has to be something that isn't, "hey look at us",' Tim told OK! Australia of the possible TV show, after coming out of the South African jungle.

'It has to be something that is inspirational and aspirational,' he added.

While Blake Garvey got down on bended knee to propose to Sam Frost in the Season two finale, their engagement didn't last more than two weeks.

And while Blake's relationship with second runner-up Louise Pillidge is still going strong, the Perth-based pair have not yet taken their relationship to the next level.

However, when Blake and Louise confirmed their relationship in a magazine tell-all in Woman's Day last October, they were understood to have been paid handsomely for the exclusive - though no price was ever revealed.

At the time, Blake's manager and celebrity agent, Max Markson, laughed off suggestions the couple earned $70,000 for their story.

'You need a better agent if they are the figures you’re looking at,' Max told KIIS FM's Kyle & Jackie O Show.

In October this year, Sam and Snezana appeared on the same breakfast radio show and admitted they would like to start a family of their own in the next year.
