Get to know some myths related to the use of air purifiers for home
by Amili R. SEOConsidering the rising levels of
air pollution in the country, more and more number of people has been switching
to air purifiers for home and office. These mechanical devices are meant to
filter the air thoroughly so as to ensure healthy and fresh air within a
limited space. There is no doubt the air pollution can be the cause behind the
onset of a number of diseases and this is why it is necessary to deal with it
in a serious matter.
But not everyone is found to be
convinced over the use of home air purifier. They have several myths associated
with its use and this prevents them from buying an air filter. Let’s get to
know about them.
1. Air
purifiers will kill the need to ever dust again
A general confusion is thinking
that air purifiers will pick the dust off the surfaces of your furniture so
that you won’t need to do dusting again. If it would have been true, then the
fan in an air purifier would be so powerful that it would cause a dust storm in
your home. Clearly opposite to what any allergy patient might wish you, therefore
you’ll still need a high quality HEPA vacuum cleaner and microfiber dust cloth
to dust your furniture and floors.
2. In
case of allergies, air purifiers are just sufficient
This is not true as an air
purifier is only meant to filter the air. There are many allergens such as
pollen that are too heavy which fall to the floor or furniture before an air
purifier tries to catch them. some medical conditions need a through cleanup
and rearrangement of home environment to make it allergy-resistant.
3. Air
purifiers for home also ensure proper odor in the home
A large number of people think
that after installing a home air purifier, they don’t need to worry about home
odor. Air purifiers only act for odors if they have many pounds of superior
grade carbon in them, but proper hygiene and eliminating the cause of the odor
is a feasible solution.
4. If
you’ve dust mite allergies, buying an air purifier is a must
Essentially, this isn’t true! The
first thing you can do in this case is purchase dust mite covers for your
bedding, since dust mites tend to assemble in warm, moist environments. An air
purifier will catch dust mite elements that have gone airborne.
5. Air
purifiers with HEPA filters treat odors.
HEPA filters really do not remove
odors. That is only done through an air purifier that has several pounds of
carbon in a different filter.
