Each year, Ms. Swanson participates in the Grass Valley downtown October 31st Halloween trick-o-treating morning hours for children. With her extensive background in acupuncture and natural medicine, giving candy to children has always been a struggle for her.

“So many of my pediatric cases are caused by poor diet, often laden with sugar”, she said. “I work so hard with parents to find simple, creative ways to get their kids to eat healthier that passing out candy at Halloween time seems like such a contradiction.”
