WWE is the primary name in the world of wrestling, a sport driven by passion and aggression. It is the largest wrestling promotion in the world and hosts about 300 events on an annual basis. When one of these events is coming to India, it is big news!

The who’s who of the wrestling world will be adorning the country of India, returning with a promise from the last time to its larger than life audience. The event is surely going to be bigger and better this time around. According to the WWE President, International, Gerrit Meier, ‘Fans can expect to see the same non-stop action and family fun that they know and love from watching WWE programming…’ Thus, one can expect it to be a power packed event with enthusiasts from all round the world.

The event is likely to usher in a great year in 2016 with it being scheduled to be held on the 15th and 16th of January, 2016, Friday and Saturday respectively. All the fun and entertainment are going to grace the national capital of India, Delhi in 2016. The event starts at 7 pm on Friday, the 15th and at 5:30 pm on the 16th.

One can expect the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium to be jam packed on the two days in January next year. The ticket prices range from ₹1699, ₹2999, ₹5499, ₹7999, ₹11999 and ₹17999.

This announcement for the WWE coming to India comes in two weeks after TNA wrestling decided to host its first ever live event in India. This impending tour of WWE is scheduled to take place after a 13 year hiatus from the country. The group last showcased its events in India in the year 2003. It took them 13 long years to come back here, but no one’s complaining as long as they entertain the audience! According to Meier, the audience base in India ranks third in the international mark, behind just the United Kingdom and Australian markets. These three countries put together bring in about 40 % of their international revenue.

Popular names like John Cena, Dean Ambrose, Big Show, Sheamus, Cesaro and Ryback are likely to grace this event which is to be aired on Ten Sports. The sale of tickets for the live show has already begun in November as the guests prepare to give the Indian audience a treat in the New Year!

Ten Sports has been bringing WWE wrestling to its Indian fans for the last 10 years. And now this leads to the development of a partnership for live events that we are hoping lasts a long time!

There are a number of WWE tour packages on sale as well encompassing the event in January.

Grab your tickets early and be ready to be amazed by the thrill, excitement and passion of this world famous and favourite sport! Let’s hope that the Indian audience won’t have to wait another 13 years before the next live event takes place here!
