People have perceptions and those are developed through various factors. With time, perceptions change due to various things and it happens because of various changes in the factors that influence. It is very essential to address these influences regularly because these are the things that change the way you think. Everything we feel and believe about a certain thing is because of our perceptive factors. We like and dislike because of them and they are closely related to what we do and what we don’t, so it’s a very big element as far as a person’s choices are concerned and as we all know, it’s the choices we take that defines us.

Our feelings too are influenced by these. Many times, we create a picture of something in our minds that we don’t even fully know about, like having a bad image for a neighboring country. That image comes automatically as they are told to be rivals. But, that feeling is strictly based on what people said and what their ideas are. Firsthand experience of the same is required to have the right perception but we take people’s ideas and then let us influence ours. That’s not really justified as the picture changes when you actually visit that country and experience a feeling of belongingness there.

In one way or another we have such influenced perceptions all the time for a multitude of things. For example we have false perceptions for things we see in daily life. For instance, we think that pets are unhygienic and aren’t ideal creatures to keep at home. We develop this because animals have been always shows as inferior to human beings. But, when a person actually adopts and raises a pet dog or a cat or any animal or bird, he comes to know that they are adorable and the ‘hygiene’ factor doesn’t even pop up while you are with them!

One of the most major things we have false perceptions about is furniture at our place or any other place. We have this rigid idea that furniture is meant for comfort and nothing else. But, that’s wrong, absolutely wrong. Furniture is far more than just that. People who make and observe furniture know that it is not a rug sack or a blanket that can be used and thrown at will. It is far more than just an object. It is art for many people and if noticed with an open mind, it is an art that nobody likes to admit!

It is so because people have injected that wrong perception in other people’s mind. People have always seen furniture as things in a drawing room and they always make believe that it’s just a ‘thing’ so people buy that idea. One of the most important things here is that people just follow these ideas and do not look at furniture independently which limits their perception. In real sense, furniture is the soul of a house. It’s not there just for comfort; it’s actually far more than just that. It is the beauty of a place and it changes many things.
