Fungisaurs, a New Twist on Collectible Toys

Los Angeles, CA (November 30, 2017) - Husband and wife power-couple, Aiman (3D Artist) and Hwa (Art Director) are independent creators pitching some genre-defining ideas. They've launched a Kickstarter campaign for their first, original line of mystery-box toys and accompanying augmented reality (AR) mobile game which has already reached 50% of their funding goal in the first week! Their creation, "Fungisaurs," is about a genetically engineered species of dinosaur-mushroom hybrids that escaped the lab and got out into our world. The duo hopes to inspire adventure, science education, and appreciation for nature through toys, games, and animation.

In addition to being beautiful collectibles, the toys are intended for scavenger hunt/hide and seek gameplay, with the accompanying mobile app acting as a radar and rewarding players by bringing their found toys to life in augmented reality!

From concepting and 3D print prototyping the toys themselves, to designing the packaging, website, and app, even building a working Augmented Reality mobile demo and animating the Fungisaurs origin story, this small team is really pushing the limits of the creative process.

Aiman is quoted, “I want to build something amazing from the ground up and make all sorts of content, not just the toys and mobile game, but delve deeper into the world of Fungisaurs, where they came from and how they’ll impact our world, through virtual reality experiences, animated TV series or a movie."

Their marketing effort started with a one-of-a-kind travel-themed instagram page with photos of the Fungisaurs toys all across North America, Europe and Asia, building up to a toy launch at the DesignerCon toy expo, and an upcoming animated Fungisaurs origin story reveal on Monday Nov 10, as part of their Kickstarter campaign.
