Online counselling or e-counselling is just another option for to face-to-face counselling, it provides client with more privacy in which he or she can find ways to solve personal issues or difficulties without feeling being judged. These issues might be depression, anxiety, panic or stress and any other.

This process takes place online just unlike face-to-face counselling, through exchange of e-mails. Similar to face-to-face counselling, your online therapist will work with you to assist you to explore and know your concerns and to help you consider any changes which you might be interested to make.

The process of Counselling

Firstly, with exchange of e-mails, your counsellor will give you a day by which he or she will respond to your e-mail and request that your message is received 48 hours prior to this day let us understand using an example.  Number one, if your counsellor will respond on a Friday, you will be asked to send your message by the Wednesday of the same week, or earlier. You can write approximately 1000 words or may be two pages.

It could happen that you might prefer to send more than one e-mail during the two week period which is okay if the combined messages do not exceed the word limit and provided that all messages are received by the specified date. You can extend the counselling contract as per the requirement and the frequency of the email transactions can be mutually decided but depends upon the availability of the therapist. Also, it has been observed that online counselling is not suitable for everyone and as some issue are better be addressed more effectively in a face-to-face mode. The payments can be made by Bank Transfer in case you have online banking or through PayPal, all online sessions may be asked to be paid for in advance.
