Free webinar hosting services and guest speakers

by Joseph Smith Content Writer

Being a people’s person is an important virtue in the 21st Century. When you are asked to be a guest speaker at a webinar, there are certain dos and don’ts that you should follow for your own good and the audiences’.

Patiently await your turn

When someone has asked you to host a webinar for them, they obviously have planned an allotted time for you. This does not mean that the moment you walk in, you will be directed to the stage and start saying your piece. Always consider the bigger picture and await your turn patiently.

Respect everyone’s time

It is possible that the organizers of the free webinar hosting event have had to face a few glitches and therefore there has been an unforeseen delay in the commencement of the program. Instead of throwing your weight around and being difficult, offer your help and ask if you might assist in fixing something. This will not only make you come across as a considerate person, and chances are that people may actually give you the extra brownie points.

Make connections

Webinar hosting is one of the biggest opportunities that you have to expand your contact base. So instead of sitting in a corner and fiddling with your phone, talk to the people who are present in the room. Obviously do not do so when someone else is talking or presenting their piece, but do it in between in a break or before and after the event. If possible carry your business card around and exchange contact details. When people offer you their cards, take a moment to look at it before sliding it into your pockets.

Look at the bigger picture

Free webinar hosting services have the tools that will let you measure the success of your event. However, for an even to be successful, it has to be smooth from beginning to end. So, when you do get a chance to speak, say your bit well and try and act as the custodian of the entire event.

Be prepared for a few glitches

Technology can sometimes be tricky. No matter how well a free webinar hosting event is planned, it is possible that on the day of the event, the microphone screeches or the slides get jumbled up or the format of music or videos that you carried is not compatible with the system. Ask about all this from beforehand to avoid as many glitches as possible. But if something does happen, prepare yourself in to fill up the time with some alternative.
