Fortnite: New v7.40 Update Will Include New Reload Time for Weapons and Changed Plane Damage

by Carl Smith Software Developer

Every new update for Fortnite brings along some balance changes to improve in-game interactions and level the playing field for gamers to enjoy the title.

And continuing with this trend, Epic Games has announced new tweaks and changed in game mechanics for planes and weapons.

With the new v7.40 update, Fortnite would replace some old in-game interactions with new mechanics for players to experience, this involves plane damage and reloading time for weapons in the game.

As per the official subreddit of Fortnite, the v7.40 update for the title would disable planes ability to fly through structures and destroying them.

This means plane would no longer be able to damage any hidden foes inside their tall defensive structures, and instead, the enemy can hunt down any possible threat by using a sniper while hiding inside.

Seeing this player would no longer be able to use X-4 Stormwing for any offensive use, and rather it will now act as a cargo plane to reach other locations quickly.

In addition to the plane getting nerf, the reloading of Rocket Launcher is also increased from 2.52 sec to 3.24 sec providing a few extra seconds to evade the incoming rockets.

The new update would also introduce a new Zipline interaction prompt, and developing in such a manner that using Zipline would prevent any damage for a player who is falling from a height onto the ground.

A Zipline would surely come in handy for those players who accidentally fall from the high ramps and defensive structures while indulging in combats. Also, this update will reduce the structure damage for Hand Cannon from 150 to 100.

The Turbo Build delay is also going to be reduced from 0.15 sec to 0.05 sec, and in addition to this players can now even crouch in the edit mode, which would surely come in handy.

Many players and fans are also excited for the new Infantry Rifle, which is expected to be included to Fortnite in the upcoming update. The most exciting fact about this new weapon is that it is inspired by a real World War II gun and have a classy finish to it. Also many have been speculating for a catastrophic event to occur during the new season 8 as many players have experienced Earthquakes during the match. So it would be quite exciting to observe the new v7.40 update and what more content will it introduce for players to enjoy.
