Ford’s Noise Control System is Music to Driver’s Ears
You’ve seen cars given as gifts on TV with giant bows attached, but imagine a car wearing a huge pair of noise-cancelling headphones. This image pretty much embodies the newest feature in Ford vehicles this year. Whether you’re shopping at a variety of Ford dealers in Utah or across the country, keep your ears wide open for the beautiful silence of these new models.
How it Works
The new noise control feature won’t mute your conversations or turn off your radio, but it will provide you with a more comfortable environment. Gizmag reports that the system “monitors noise and uses sound waves to block it out.”
Aside from this advanced technology, Ford dealers in Utah and elsewhere are showing off other features that help with noise control. Gizmag reports that the newer models include “foam rather than fiberglass…to insulate the engine bay, reducing powertrain noise transferred to the cabin by up to two decibels.”
Acoustic glass is also used “to minimize the noise caused by air-flow,” and “sound-absorbing materials are used for the interior,” according to Gizmag. With features like these you should be able to record your next hit record in the comfort of your Ford.
Silence is Golden
Not only does noise reduction provide a more peaceful experience for drivers, it also greatly improves safety conditions.
Gizmag quotes medical expert John Cartwright as stating, “Noise is intrusive and reduces the driver's mental processing power, and can lead to distraction and stress." With a quieter ride, drivers are more likely to feel at ease and ready to take on obstacles while maneuvering a variety of terrain.
Although you may not find a 30-foot-long pair of Beats headphones to accompany your new car this season, be sure to visit one of your local Ford dealers in Utah to find a quiet ride fit for the stresses of the holidays.
