Foamy Urine: A Type Of Kidney Problem

by Shipra Sharma Kidney Treatment in Ayurveda
Exhibiting foamy urine could be a sign of some kidney disease. Our blood contains a protein called albumin, which, when get eliminated through the urine, makes the urine foamy or bubbly. The scientific term used for foamy urine is known to be proteinuria, which means your urine has protein.

How is albuminuria related to your kidneys?

It is your kidneys responsible for squandering the waste from the blood. They healthily do this function of removing the leftovers of the various chemical reactions that take place when we consume something. As we consume our meals, the protein in the food goes in the blood, and the waste is eliminated. But when the kidneys filter gets enlarged, they may allow even the large molecules to escape through them. This is quite distressing for the body as we lose important nutrients when we get diagnosed with proteinuria.

Why is urine albumin important?

Measurement of urine albumin is important to consider:

• If you already have kidney disease
•To check the progression of proteinuria into chronic kidney disease

The healthcare providers check for foamy urine to know how much albumin, the kidneys are expelling through their filters. If the level of albumin in the urine is quite high, then critically, the condition should be treated with the help of foamy urine treatment in Ayurveda. The treatment can help slow down the progression of foamy urine into the late stages of chronic kidney disease and eventually, which leads to kidney failure. Untreated proteinuria can manifest to renal failure.

What are the risk factors for proteinuria?

Various health conditions can hamper the kidney’s function and make the vessels that pass the blood to the kidneys weak. Of all such conditions, diabetes and hypertension are the risk factors that debilitate the functions of the kidneys. But both these conditions do not disturb the kidneys function suddenly; rather, they take years to develop into kidney problems. So, it is important that should be regular with your foamy urine treatment in Ayurveda to make sure that the foamy urine does not develop to some chronic kidney disease.

The risk factors involved with foamy urine include:

• High blood pressure deteriorates the function of the kidneys
• Even elevated levels of blood sugar also result in low kidney function
• Those who consume an excess of antibiotics are more at risk
• Several infections in the body also cause proteinuria
• A family history of kidney disease
• Pregnancy in some women also causes proteinuria, but for the time being
• Some people notice foam in the urine when standing
• Increased production of proteins in the body; multiple myeloma results in proteinuria
• Temporary proteinuria exists in some when they do strenuous exercise
• Proteinuria is also observed in the day but not in the morning

How can you diagnose foamy urine?

No patient can notice the signs of kidney disease right away. So, it is hard to recognize that you have proteinuria until the amount of protein is exceptionally high. Go for the routine checkup and know what is causing you proteinuria. For some, proteinuria occurs temporarily and does not require any specific treatment, apart from lifestyle changes. But in certain conditions, it is essential to have two or more repetitive tests and then take foamy urine treatment in Ayurveda.

The tests that are conducted to monitor proteinuria or foamy urine include:

• UACR
• Blood test Globulins
• Urine protein electrophoresis
• Serum creatinine electrophoresis
• A kidney biopsy

Managing proteinuria

It is important to manage proteinuria to prevent some late-stage kidney disease. The early prevention is a better way to curing the disease than bearing the pain at the advanced stage.

Follow these preventive measures:

• Consult a renal dietician and know the best sources of protein good for you and the fine quantity you should eat each day
• Measure your UACR and keep track of albumin in the blood. If the report shows a high UACR level for three or more continuous tests, then better take foamy urine treatment in Ayurveda.
• Reduce table salt usage on your meals as it affects the blood pressure level
• Consume fresh fruits and vegetables instead of using frozen veggies
• Consume less sugar and fat
• Manage your weight if you have obesity as a risk factor for proteinuria
• Stay hydrated but do not over drink
• Eat food rich in magnesium
• Taking too much of potassium may obstruct your kidney function
