We are glad to invite you to help us fight to prevent autism-related wandering incidents and deaths.

It is a fact that Autistic Children are attracted to water, are prone to wandering off or bolting into traffic. Statistics indicate that accidental drowning accounted for ninety one percent of the total U.S. accidentaldeaths reported in children with Autism aged 14 years and younger subsequent to wandering.

It is possible to prevent deaths associated with wondering of Autistic children. As far as flow on information is concerned there is a huge disconnect between Physicians, Mental Health Professionals, First Responders, and families touched by Autism.

Studies which have been done show that  less than half of families with an autistic child who has wandered were ever informed or offered any guidance by their pediatrician or mental health professional about the behavior and the dangers that accompany it. This leads to a serious situation which needs to be contained if we join hand to address it.

Through buying one of our calendar packages, you will be helping to raise awareness, providing us with funds which will help us in training emergency responders on the best way to serve the Autistic Community and children with special needs.

You contribution will also be going towards sponsoring Survival Swim Lessons for those families which are directly touched by autism but cannot afford to take the lessons

By large you will be helping us to prevent deaths which are associated with wandering such as drowning, petting struck by a motor vehicle, falling off from a high place, hypothermia, assult, victimization, abduction among others.

Feel good when giving; it is a worthy cause that will go towards helping a needy person be safe. The families which are affected by autism and children with special need your help. Through helping the emergency responders you will have a smile on your face but helping the autistic children adds more joy in life. Get that smile from helping the emergency responders and let your heart explode with gratitude when you help the autistic children.

One of the people who have inspired us is Jack also known within his friends' circles as Jackman. He is our hero; he is one of those who have been diagnosed with autism. His father Justin started researching about autism and what he found out shocked and disturbed him. The figures on the number of children with special needs who have died is just alarming. The main cause of these deaths is wandering.Wandering is when a person, who requires some level of supervision to be safe, leaves a supervised, safe space and/or the care of a responsible person and is exposed to potential dangers. The fact that this is something which can be controlled and preventing motivated him to start on something which will benefit the community.

As a firefighter, that information made Justin very uncomfortable. As a father of a child with autism, that information made Justin sick.

Justin took action; he recruited a talented and creative photographer from South Arizona, Jason Lee Nola, invited a number of his fellow firefighters from various departments and connected with families which are affected by autism. He shared the vision with them all and here the idea was transformed into action. Justin's goal from the very beginning was to training emergency responders on how to serve the community and the children with special needs, sponsor survival lessons as well as raise awareness to prevent autism related wandering.

"It is physically and mentally draining to raise a child who is prone to wondering off from a safe environment and attracted to a potentially dangerous one, you always have to be dialed in, I had to do something…Hence, Firefighters vs. Autism." Justin recently explained.

If you cannot make it to buy our calendar packages or contribute some money, there are others ways through which you can help. If you share our video with your community more people will have known about our initiatives and once they make contribution towards this course it will be as a result of you initiatives. Get to share on Facebook, twitter or any other place that you can. Also use the Indegogo share tools to spread the message across. We are very grateful for the support you have shown towards this initiative.
