I'm Brazilian and this is kind of "old news" to gamers down here. What actually happened is that ESPN was told the two clubs signed that deal, ESPN being a big sports channel published that on their website and because they are big and all that everyone started talking about it down with Fifa Coins. But FIFA fans got upset so a few websites decide to check ESPN sources, once a few of theses gaming websites were able to contact the PR of the clubs they were told that they did sign a contract for PES but it's not exclusive yet. It might be if EA doesn't pay them more for their image rights.

Not to the average American soccer fan. And considering that the US market is a huge untapped market for the South American leagues, not including our latino population who are more likely to have knowledge of them, it would behove these teams to be in a game that is basically the easiest way to get Americans between the ages of 10-25 into soccer. I grew up playing hockey my whole life, but I got really into watching the European soccer leagues around 07-08, and I had never heard of either of them until I bought FIFA around 2010.

Yes, but, although the market is untapped, I don't think the North American market concerns them as much as the South American or European one where a lot of their money comes from.

They have enough Brazilians and other South American people up in North America that will know of them and spread the word if need be. They've been on previous FIFA's, how much did that help, I wonder.

I am well aware of that. I am not sure that you are aware of what I am talking about... perhaps you should re-read my comments. I am not talking about the paltry sum paid by Konami for the rights, even if it was more than EA's offer. I am talking about the decision of these two clubs to take the short term cash option, while foregoing the potential indirect income to be made from their being in the most popular sports game on the planet. It is a fact that the player base of FIFA puts PES to shame, and if you want to increase your global brand, and the possibility of income through that route, surely it would be better to present your club to a wider audience. Would it not? It is a question of opportunity cost.

Do you think that this "Possibility of income through route" works just like real soccer ? It does not. South american clubs could care less about North America/Europe market. What they really care Fifa 16 Skills, and what brings money is the national market, so choosing PES instead of Fifa won't hurt these two at all, makes no difference choosing between one of these two, that's why they're accepting Konami's offer.

It's not like they didn't know the possibilities, these two clubs have the best marketing teams in the country and they know that they're doing.
