In recent months, we have all become more familiar with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the symptoms associated with it. One of the most common symptoms is fever, and its important to understand the role of fever in relation to the virus.

Fever is one of the most common symptoms of COVID-19. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), fever is defined as a temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher. It is important to note that not everyone who has COVID-19 will experience a fever. However, if you do have a fever, it could be a sign that you have the virus.

Fever is the bodys natural response to fighting infection, and it is your bodys way of trying to kill the virus. The higher the fever, the harder your body is working to fight the virus. If you have a fever, you can try various fever treatment at home like rest or drink plenty of fluids. Taking acetaminophen or ibuprofen can also help reduce your fever and make you more comfortable.

If you have a fever and other symptoms of COVID-19, it is important to get tested. The CDC recommends that anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, should get tested. Your doctor can determine if you need to be tested and can provide you with guidance on the best course of action.
