When you're a mom on the go, your life can be understandably hectic and chaotic. However, this doesn't mean that you have to look chaotic. When you look good, you tend to feel better. In order to stay on top of your appearance and look your best, consider some of the following fashion tips that will suit you best as a modern mom.

1. Plan Outfits in Advance

Set aside a few hours during the weekend to plan your outfits for the following week. When you're able to mix and match pieces together, it'll be much easier to grab and go throughout the week. If you don't have enough time to plan your outfits for the week, take 15 to 20 minutes each night to lay out your clothes for the following day. A lot of people tend to suffer from decision fatigue. This happens when they have to make a ton of decisions and start to make the wrong ones because they're tired. To decrease your chances of experiencing decision fatigue as a mom, plan your outfits in advance in order to eliminate one of the decisions you have to make. Plus, when you plan your outfits in advance, you'll tend to make better choices that are thoughtful to the way you want to present yourself as well as factors like the occasion and the weather.

2. Go for Monochromatic Looks

Monochromatic outfits tend to look fresh, chic and classy. Whether you choose to wear an all-black ensemble or two shades of pink, it's fun to create looks that are easy on the eye. Monochromatic looks also tend to be slimming. If you're in the market for preowned dresses, it's okay to include patterns and prints. Patterns and prints are fun and useful for providing diversity to your closet. However, it’s also good to look for monochromatic dresses as well because they offer a classic, timeless appeal.

3. Always Accessorize

Develop a strong range of accessories that you can mix and match with different outfits. Even if you're wearing a black graphic t-shirt and a cute pair of black skinny jeans, you can easily make an everyday grocery run look stylish by adding a gold necklace, a nice gold watch and a simple black baseball cap. If you add a red lip to the look, it doesn't get more modern than that. In addition to the right pieces of jewelry, it's also great to have a few staples that you can easily grab at any given moment. Whether it's a classy cocktail ring, a pair of pearl earrings or a classic black clutch, know what's in your closet in order to use it at the right times.

4. Prioritize Comfort

When you're a modern mom on the go, know that modern looks don't have to be synonymous with discomfort. You don't have to wear high heels all the time if you don't want to. However, if you want to wear heels, always pad them with gel insoles. It's important to prioritize comfort in order to support yourself throughout the day. You have a lot on your plate as a mom. It's best to make sure that you feel as good as you look. A great pair of ballet flats with the right insoles can make a major difference in the way your feet feel at the end of a day. Supportive undergarments will help you maintain the appeal that you desire as well. When your undergarments are clearly ill-fitting, this ruins the entire outfit.

5. Utilize a Tailor

When you purchase garments from the manufacturer, they're not thinking about your particular measurements. They're creating garments for mass production. The way you can make clothes look as though they're custom-made for your body involves utilizing a tailor. Whether it’s a brand-new skirt or a pair of jeans you found at the thrift store, allow a tailor to alter the garment to fit your body.

Conclusion

As a mom, it's really easy to get caught up in making sure everyone else is okay. Unfortunately, many moms focus on everyone else and neglect themselves. In order to make sure that you don't put yourself on the back burner, try your best to prioritize fun, flirty experiences like putting on makeup, finding the perfect dress and improving your fashion game over time. As a modern mom, you deserve it.
