SGT University was started with the objective of spreading education amongst the people. It has about 17 faculties. All the faculties are structured to spread quality learning. The University works to spread the message of Shree Guru Gobind Singh Ji that the spread of learning is the best service to humanity and mankind.

SGT University’s faculty of agricultural science was set up to cater to the needs of students with an interest in agriculture. The faculty possesses 35.5 acres of agricultural land. Out of that 9.5 acres of land is used for cultivation purposes. The land used as the orchard is about 2 acres. The vegetable crops cover about 2 acres. An additional 25 acres are owned by the faculty.

The agricultural science college has a poly house, mushroom production unit, Vermi Compost unit and compost unit. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate courses in agriculture. The undergraduate courses are widely explored in the present times. Globalization has led to an increase in the significance, of innovative technologies. Agriculture is confined not only to production, and in fact, has become one of the most sought after and lucrative industry in the country as well as worldwide.

SGT University has introduced a 4 years B.Sc. Agriculture program from the year 2016-17. The students while pursuing the course get agriculture-related knowledge but also, complementary skills in running an agro enterprise.

The agricultural science college is well known for its expert staff members who are well acquainted with their job. They have a thorough knowledge of their subject matter and an experienced lot. The faculty of agriculture observed research-oriented pedagogy. A practical approach in teaching is observed which increases the aptitude level of the students. The hands-on training helps in increasing the dexterity level of the students. Workshops are organized frequently to increase the practical knowledge of students. Training and demonstrations by students help in increasing the practical knowledge of students. Industry visits are organized periodically in order to increase the real-life experience and make the students aware of the latest trends being followed in the industry. Also, the curriculum is so designed that it syncs with the market trends. The syllabus is job oriented and structured to follow according to industry trends.

The faculty of agriculture has a state of the art infrastructure and the agricultural labs are equipped with cutting edge technology.
