Explore The Best Of Everest Region Trekking

by Pramesh Bajracharya I'm a professional travel blogger and writer.

Traversing through the Everest Region through all of its diversity and extremities is an ultimate trekking adventure for many avid travelers. Being so close as to touch the Everest from its base camp is a highlight on its own, but the Khumbu region has much more to offer.

The Three Passes Trek in the Everest Region is a strenuous but worthwhile trekking endeavor that blends all the highlights of this region, the mountain vistas, quaint Sherpa settlements, and three Himalayan passes ranging over 5000 meters.

Three High Passes in Everest Region

Kongma La

Considered the most difficult pass among the three, the Kongma La Pass towers at an elevation of 5,535 meters. It is the least traversed pass because of its sheer difficulty. Located east of Cho La, this is the first pass you’ll be crossing in the Everest Three Passes Trek Package.

Cho La

Towering at an elevation of 5,420 meters, the Cho La Pass is another Himalayan spectacle that is a must-go for Everest lovers. Offering astonishing views of Gokyo Lakes just below the Everest range takes breaths away.

Renjo La

At a staggering height of 5,360 meters, the Renjo La Pass is located in the western region of the Sagarmatha National Park. Although it is the easiest among the three passes, the altitude poses threats to many visitors. This pass comes after exploring the heavenly Gokyo lakes.

Final Say

Trekking through Renjo La, Cho La, and Kongma La is an incredibly challenging adventure but one that offers unfathomable views from the top of these passes. It’s an experience that an adventurer will never forget throughout their lifetime.

And at the end, reaching the Everest Base Camp through uncharted routes is the best of what Everest Trekking has to offer.
