by Masashi S. JDM Enthusiast

The Mazda3 is a compact car produced and was unveiled in 2003 by Mazda. It is currently in its fourth generation and available in sedan and hatchback body styles. The Mazda3 offers exceptional steering dynamics and sporty handling with an upscale interior and a stylish exterior. Now, get to know more pros and cons of the new Mazda Mazda3 2022.

5 Pros

High-End Interior Styling

The interior styling of the Mazda3 is done with materials that feel and look nice. The upper trims offer even better use of soft leather throughout the door panels, steering wheel, and center of the dash as well as sections of the center console with 8-way power-adjustable seats and a heating option at the front. Also, include a 7.0-inch digital screen instrument cluster.

Intelligent Handling

The Mazda3 offers a pleasant driving experience with 2.0-liter engine offering decent power delivery paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that does a very good job. Steering is well-calibrated with good balance between comfort and sportiness. The Mazda 3 takes corners smoothly and quickly with Mazda G-Vectoring Control (GVC+) at work.

Optional/Standard I-Activ All-Wheel Drive

The Mazda3 comes fitted with Mazda’s I-Active all-wheel drive as standard and an option that is great at handling and is safe to maneuver in rainy or snowy conditions. The I-Activ system constantly monitors the road conditions while also controls the distribution of power and traction to all the wheels.

Powerful Engines

The 2022 Mazda3 is equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 180 hp and 165 lb-ft while the stronger naturally aspirated 2.5-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine offers 186 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. You can also opt for the 2.5-liter turbocharged with 227 hp - 250 hp and 320 lb-ft depending on the type of fuel which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual transmission.

Modern Infotainment System

The 2022 Mazda3 offers 8.8-inch non-touchscreen display, Bluetooth, two USB ports, HD Radio, voice command function, and an eight-speaker stereo. The 2.5 S trim adds Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the top 2.5 Turbo trim offers navigation, satellite radio, and a premium 12-speaker Bose audio system.

5 Cons

Narrow Rear Seat Legroom

The 2022 Mazda3 offers a spacious front row with enough head- and legroom. But the second-row space is limited especially on the hatchback due to its sloping roof, making it undesirable for adults.

Not Enough Cargo Space

The Mazda3 comes with several storage compartments including a center tray, center bin, and door pockets at the front and rear you. But the cargo area has a touch smaller than average with 373-liter cargo room for sedan, while the hatchback has a 569-liter boot. Though the rear seats of both models can be folded down to extend the cargo area.

Undesirable Price

In other markets, the Mazda3 is priced higher than its competitors. But considering all the quality of its engineering, practicality, and interior and exterior style, you can see that its pricing is justified.

Smartphone Connectivity Is Not Standard

Some model offers standard smartphone connectivity but not the Mazda3. It is only reserved for the mid- and top-range models which may disappoint other buyers. So if you want to connections between smartphones and car infotainment systems, you’ll have to pay to get this feature.

Limited Rear Visibility

The 2022 Mazda3 hatchback has limited rear visibility but is not much of a problem because of the rear-view camera features, but the issue comes when the car is moving and the driver needs to see what’s behind them.

Finally,

The 2022 Mazda3 is a nice compact car offering a sedan and hatchback model with pleasant, sporty, and comfortable ride thanks to its speedy acceleration, good steering feel, and engaging handling. You can check the Mazda Mazda3 stocklist now for more available and latest models.
