A lot of people who buy baby gear often end up regretting buying some of the items because when you put more consideration into the uses of these items, it is evident that they are not that essential. For instance some of the items can be replaced by makeshift utilities and accessories that lie around the house. It has come to the attention of many couples and single parents that one can save a good amount of money by skipping some of the baby gear items and you will not be at a disadvantage by doing so as far as the care of the baby is concerned.

Below are some of the items you can skip and still have an easy time caring for your child.

The first item is a baby monitor. A lot of people do not sleep like corpses and hence they can hear they baby crying a few steps away. However, for those who wish to keep a closer eye on the infant there are other alternatives that will not cast you an extra coin to set up. For instance in the modern age every house hold has a laptop or a computer with a webcam and a smart phone. It is possible to link the laptop and the phone to act as baby monitor.

A nappy wrapper is also another item you should definitely skip. This is because this is just a fancy dust bin dedicated to nappies and diapers. They all come with the catch phrase that they keep the smell out but over time you realize it was all a hoax. As soon as the baby starts eating as opposed to suckling, it will stink terribly.

If you live in a small apartment, you don’t have to cram the small living space with unnecessary gear such as a changing table or a cod. This is because many couple use their bed as both this items and they mange just fine. However, as the baby grows bigger you will eventually have to sacrifice on the cod.

Bottle sterilizers are also not essential as boiled water does a great job of the same as well as a dishwasher. Some gear is even quite unnecessary such as wipes warmers.

If you are not the first person to get a child in the family or among close friends, it is possible that they still have the same baby gear they bought and is probably lying around in the garage or the attic. If you are in such a position, you can ask if you may use some of the items such as cod, walker and much more. This is economical to everyone because you can use the same baby gear for years provided it is well maintained and without spending a single cent on it.

You can also use toys from your friends and family instead of running out and buying a more expensive version of what you could get for free.
