However, most of the LED TVs today marketed by various companies are not exactly LED TVs but rather LCD TVs with LED backlighting. What this means is that they use an LED backlight instead of the CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) backlight as found in older models with huge back extensions. The truth behind an actual LED TV is that each pixel is made from separate Light Emitting Diode and is very expensive for home use. Hence such TVs are found stadiums, music concerts, or political rallies only.

So, while choosing an LED TV, one must actually think of factors like size, connectivity options, contrast ratio, color balancing, and pricing. Usually, it is recommended to choose a full-HD panel over HD ready and size is another factor that plays an important role in choosing a TV of your choice within budget.

Add to it, the cost of connectivity and auxiliary choices like Full HD ‘Smart’ LED TV, the cost can vary drastically. Usually, the ideal way to guess the screen size is to divide the distance between sitting area and TV by 1.5. This means if you have a room with a sitting distance of 60 inches (5 feet) then the ideal TV size would be 60/1.5 = 40 inches.
