Everything You Need to Know About the Balloon Festival New Mexico

by Doris Mercy Travel Blogger
What are your plans for October? With the approach and arrival of the wintery weather comes a hell lot of exciting adventures as well. October is the most awaited time of the year in New Mexico. If you are hunting for a full family packed festival, then there is Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico, welcoming hundreds of balloonists as participants and millions of tourists from around the world. So, before you plan your way into the Balloon Festival New Mexico, you must be familiar with the kinds of things that are there to witness around the place.

Here is a list of things that you need to know before you visit Albuquerque for the biggest festival in the city:

1. How to Make a Booking?
You can get Balloon Fiesta tickets online or at the door for just $10 per head. General entry doesn’t usually sell out, so you don’t need to worry if you didn’t plan. There is also a traditional festival with day-long events and marathon programs. Instead, expect there to be two bursts of activity throughout the day mainly in the early morning, 5 am and evening at 5 pm. You must buy a ticket for each separate session and event you choose to attend.

2. Parking Can Be Difficult
It’s a huge event and almost a million tourist gathers, so getting parking is not an easy task. Even if you get a good space, it might cost you as much as $15/car. You can almost count it with the fact that it costs more to park a car than to enter the festival itself. Also, keep on mind getting out is not an easy job with a car. It might take an hour a half just to leave the venue. So, prefer taking public vehicles or pay for a cab ride rather than wasting time and money on the parking process.

3. Balloon Rides
This is where hundreds of balloons all launch on the same morning, generally over a 1.5 to 2-hour period. They will launch in two waves so that for almost 2 hours. Visitors can walk around the launch, field to see the balloon preparations and get different views as the balloons launch. Then if you wish to fly and take a ride, then it will cost you roughly around $450, which will include not just ride and amazing views of the skyline but also a wine and celebration as you come back down.

Get yourself ready for an outstanding chance to witness the eventful nine days of spectacular hot air ballooning and get stunned with the fireworks. Great food, fun festivals and all-night concerts are all parts of the event. It’s a way to highlight the best of traditions and competitions. If you have not seen it, then there is probably a lot that you are missing in your life now!
