Firstly, the education system in most universities is well-structured. The structure is one thing that is missing in the education system of most countries, and that is why students get attracted towards the US master’s program. Secondly, the education system of the US universities is extremely research and practical experience based, which helps in the overall development of a student.
One problem that every student who wishes to study in the US face is how to apply for MS is the USA. The application submission process to the universities of the USA can be quite intimidating, and there are many ways in which a student can blunder which would get their application rejected. However, we have made a list of 7 points that a person must follow if they want to know how to apply for MS in the USA-
1. Select your desired Universities
A person should start looking for universities 15 months before the time they wish to start their master’s session. Most American universities start three sessions during a year- Fall, Spring, and Summer. From which most courses start in Fall (September). Thus, make sure you have all the information about your course and start looking for universities in May-June of the earlier year.
All the Ivy League and other universities have all necessary information uploaded on their respective websites. Go through these carefully and check for the universities that offer your desired course. After that, narrow down the main universities that you want to get enrolled in.
2. Check Deadlines
Once you’re done narrowing down your college options, check for the application submission deadline for your course. Although most American colleges have deadlines around September to January, to make sure cross-check for the deadlines for your course in every university.
3. Eligibility
Once you’re done with narrowing down the universities and checking for deadlines, you also need to make sure that you’re eligible for the admission. To get admission in most American universities, a person must have at least 16 years of education that is 12 years of school and four years of an undergraduate degree. Furthermore, it is required for the student to give one of these exams to send their application to any American university- GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, MCAT, LSAT, among others.
4. Standardized exam required
A person has to one or more of the following exams to send applications to most American universities-
● GRE- GRE is a mandatory test that every person must take who wishes to get admission for MS in the USA.
●TOEFL and IELTS- are English proficiency tests for non-native English speakers.
● MCAT- medical studies aspirants have to take this test.
● LSAT- law aspirants, have to take this test.
5. Arrange Application Package
Before you send in your application, set a whole application package so that you do not miss anything. In most universities, an application package consists-
● SOP- Statement of Purpose
● LOR- Letter of recommendation
● Essays
● Resume
● Academic Transcripts
● Scores
6. Cross check all documents
Once you’re done, cross check all your personal documents such as-
● Recommendation Letter (Minimum 2-3)
● GRE/TOEFL/IELTS/GMAT scores
● Academic Transcripts
● SOP
● Work experience certificates, if any
● Photocopies of passport
● Any other certificates mentioned in the application form if any
● WSE evaluation documents, if required by the university
7. Apply
Once you’ve crosschecked all the documents, apply.
