Aspiration abortion: Using the vacuum suction device the content from the cervix is removed to end the pregnancy. It is performed up to 14 weeks of gestation.

Dilation and evacuation: The tissues of pregnancy is removed with the help of forceps. It is usually done up to 14 to 16 weeks or after.
