·         Bodily injury liability: -

The Texas government requires a minimum of $30,000 per person and $60,000 for the whole accident in the form of bodily injury liability. This coverage helps to protect you against financial loss in case of accident in which you are at fault and responsible for injuries for the other party.

·         Property damage liability: -

Minimum amount of property damage liability that you must have living in Texas as required by the law is $25,000. It protects you against damages caused by an at-fault accident in which you damage the property of other party usually the vehicle.

·         Personal injury protection: -

This coverage is an optional on. However, if you opt for it the minimum legal requirement is $2500. This protects you against injuries that result from an accident in which you are at fault.

·         Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage: -

This insurance is for coverage against losses that result from an accident in which an uninsured or underinsured motorist is at fault. This is also an optional coverage. However, if you go for it the minimum legal requirement is $30,000 per person, $60,000 for the accident in case of bodily injury. For property damage the minimum legal requirement is $25,000 and deductible amount of $250. This coverage is particularly useful in Texas as there are motorists who are not insured.

 

·         Comprehensive coverage: -

Comprehensive coverage protects against damages caused by any factor other than accident such as fire, theft, vandalism or weather related factors. Living in Texas this kind of insurance can be helpful especially in areas where flooding is common.

·         Collision coverage: -

This coverage protects you against damages caused to your vehicle due to accident with some other vehicle.
