There are regular and chartered helicopter tours to the Everest region from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal.

Everest base camp is situated at an altitude of 5335 meters from the sea level. Even the cost of trekking the Everest base camp is not very cheap. One slice of bread near the base camp at the highest bakery in the world might cost around 10 dollars.
