Enjoying The Sport of Fly Fishing

Enjoying the sport of fly fishing has been in my family for years and we have a lot of fun with this fantastic sport. The fly fishing sport has been around years and years. This is the way the anglers fished for food back in medieval times, becoming a real test of skills this sport has evolved over the years. In my years of being involved in this sport, I have found how addictive it can be and this is because once you learn how to catch that first big fish, you will want to go and keep trying to catch another one. This addiction, I would have to say, is the best addiction that you can have.

I also like regular fishing, this is different from fly fishing, although both of these styles of fishing can be fun, I still like fly fishing a little better. Fly fishing is when you use a fly and this fly resembles a insect that the fish naturally feed on, as to the regular fishing when you use lures or live bait to lure the fish to your line so you can hook them. With fly fishing you will mimic the movement of the fly and this makes the fish think that it is a real insect. Plus the line that you use is longer then the line in regular fishing.

With fly fishing you will put your fly out in the water and then draw it back several times, so with this you will have constant casting and this is so the fish will think the fly is landing and taking off again out on the water and it will think more of it being a real fly. Regular fishing you will do less casting because you will cast your line in and wait until the fish bites or if you are using a bobber then you wait until the bobber sinks into the water. This is why I like fly fishing over the other because it will keep you busy and you will not get bored sitting and waiting for the fish to bite.

You can catch some large fish with both styles of fishing and that is one reason why I still like both methods but to me fly fishing is more fun because it is like a battle between you and the fish and this way you are more active then sitting and getting bored waiting for the fish to bite the regular way.

The regular way consist of lures that are man made and made from latex and plastic, where flies are made from natural materials. Fish are much more attracted to the natural lure, at least this is what many avid fly fishermen say and I would have to agree, I know I have had better luck with the natural ones. This is why I and many of the avid fly fishermen say fly fishing makes an amazingly satisfying sport.

Enjoying The Sport of Fly Fishing has brought me and my family together more and not only that, we now have much more fun as a family then we ever did before we started the sport as a family. There are many great places to go to fish, I myself fish in the Great Lakes of Michigan because that is where I live but we also plan vacations as a family to Canada, where this is another great place to fish. Where ever you go on your next vacation just do some research and find the best spots to fish and enjoy your vacation a little more.
