Emerging Trends In Digital Photography
Photography at its essence, is a very powerful and complex concept, and while there are individuals who claim that planning (in some parts) and creativity are the main aspects defining photography, there are some holes in this theory.

The reason for that is because in order for a photographer’s vision to be materialized, he needs to use very powerful cameras. The new steps that camera manufacturers worldwide have taken have actually stirred the photographers’ community, infusing new trends in photography. Thus, Henri Cartier Bresson and the likes of him had to rely on a single device in order to create timeless masterpieces.
Henri and his friends who are in the same profession as him, had to jump directly into print from many years of using a camera and it seems that even though they had to take this step, they weren’t intimidated and managed to do a very impressive job.
And because of that, the obvious question is: Is there a place for technology in every aspect of photography? While many people would just answer negatively, no one can deny the fact that digital photography spawns some pretty exciting times.
There are more and more cameras being released by manufacturers and they are more powerful, easier to use, and larger, but without excluding the fun element which seems to be characteristic of them. There are many recent trends that begin to unfold in the eyes of photographers and everyone in the industry is very fond of what is currently going on.
Mobile editing
Bringing work to a professional level can always be done by using Photoshop or Lightroom, but not every picture would work great as stock photography or for being sold to a gallery. That’s why photographers should take their travelling snaps and on location updates for their Twitter feed. All the effort required in this regard would be an editing time of 2 to 3 hours, but the truth is that they won’t really gain too much. As a result, it would be more efficient for photographers to use a mobile app to boost their photograph’s colors.
It’s true that using an app that costs a mere buck or so won’t grant superior results to those who use Lightroom or Photoshop (which are great for use in a photography lab), but not many would want to snarl at fingertip editing.
ZOOM
The ultra slow motion shots at Wimbledon or the adverts by Marks and Spencer are certainly very familiar to many photographers and those who want to take photography versions of these amazing shots, will need to take their attention and aim it at a great pair of zoom lenses. Those who will use them will not have to worry about carrying heavy accessories with them and as a result, they’ll be more mobile.
Black & White? Again.
Maybe there was a time in history when black and white photography was considered dead, but nowadays, photographers are starting to focus on it once again. While they can all use Photoshop and similar suites to enhance the colors of their shots, they think that black and white does their photographers more justice by allowing them to express things color photography will never be able to. So this way, black and white shooting is not regarded as a new trend, but rather one that is emerging.
HDR
This type of photography can be considered recent and it seems that by the way it was embraced by photographers, it will be here to stay for many years. In the past HDR photography was very hard to make possible, but nowadays, using specialized software, it’s become a reality. HDR basically represents a number of three to four pictures which are taken at various exposure rates. Using specialized photography editing suites, photographers can then edit the images and finally obtain a single snap that will look quite breathtaking.
Painted Expressionism
Painted expressionism will basically tinker with the photographer’s creative side and the usual approaches include energetic imagery which features collections of tones and textures that are highly saturated.
Because of that, they’ll create a dreamlike feel. In general, these types of works of arts can be seen on canvases, but there aren’t few the decisions of magazines to use them as their cover. As a method that was made possible by technology, it shows that it not only looks amazing, but it’s not the sum of all fears either.
