There are more than eight kinds of types for the basic elements among the stainless steel pipe. Today, lets have a view for the former four kinds.

Chromium and Nickel: They are one of the factors making the stainless steel pipe stainless. It is necessary in forming the passive film. With corresponding percent of them, it would supply benefits for quality of the stainless steel pipe.

Manganese: Manganese, in association with nickel, performs many of the functions attributed to nickel. It will also interact with the sulfur in stainless steel to form manganese sulfites, which increases the resistance to pitting corrosion.

Molybdenum: Molybdenum, in combination with chromium, is very effective in stabilizing the passive film in the presence of chlorides.

Carbon: Carbon is used to increase strength. In the martensitic grade, the addition of carbon facilitates hardening through heat-treating.
