Spinning on a indoor cycling bike is an indoor exercise that makes you lose some calories and effectively tone your muscle. It is an easy workout that does not require too much effort, just the usual biking style. Aside from its enjoyable nature, the spinning session is one of the exercises that is easy and has no pressure. You may prefer this no strict rules, no required speed and no hustle kind of workout.

However, to have a better result of this exercise, one should at least follow some do’s and don’ts during or prior the workout session. To help you with this, here are some of the things that a biker should and should not do to attain a fantastic outcome.

Do’s in Spinning

•    If it’s your first time, Do tells the instructor so he could give you the right instructions for the proper positioning and other important things to consider in the class. It’s better to know the specifics so you won’t find it hard adjusting with the session and also you won’t be wasting time not doing the proper exercise.

•    Whether you’re an expert or a beginner, it is better that you should know the multiple setting of your bikes so you could use it correctly. So Do becomes familiar with your spinning bike.

•    DO some adjustment on your workout according to your needs. It is okay not to follow every word of the instructor if you’re not comfortable nor will it give you what you need in your workout then feel free to modify it.

•    Though you may do the spinning in with a group, the effort will be individual so. Do motivate yourself. Remember that it’s your choice on how fast your pacing will be in the spinning sessions so your group is not much of a help.

•    If you’ve been working so hard then you should recognize your need to have a pause.DO take breaks when necessary. It won’t do you any good if you exhaust yourself too much trying to put away immediately those calories. It will happen soon but don’t pressure yourself too much.
•    DO cool down after class. If you get out of the bike immediately, you might get dizzy, so it’s rather advisable that you’d let your legs slow down before jumping out of the bike.
•    It will give you a better result if you do it right and that goes with the correct sitting position and posture so DOkeep your body on the center of the bike and sit properly. The wrong position might injure you so instead of being fit, you’ll probably have an additional problem trying to fix what has been injured. So other than being comfortable, make sure that you are doing it correctly with the right position and posture.

Don’ts in Spinning

•    Not having a resistance can make you injure yourself so DON’T ride without resistance.

•    However, it is also advisable that you DON’T ride with too much resistance. It is better to not have a stop at the top or bottom of the pedal stroke.

•    Handlebars are made for just the light support so DON’T rely on the handlebars instead, keep the work on your weight and legs. Remember the workout is not for your hands but its focus is on your thigh, hamstring, calve muscle, abdomen and cardio.

•    DON’T be disturbed with the instructor’s pacing. Remember they are there to guide you not to intimidate you. If the instructor is going too fast, don’t be pressured to be of equal speed with him, focus on your own pacing because it is you that is doing the workout for yourself not your anyone else neither your instructor.

•    Being excited with the workout is normal but DON’Tstart directly with an intense workout. Instead, start with a slow pacing to help you warm up and loosen those muscles.

And the last one that a biker should not do after reading this is that you should not set this aside and should not only put this into consideration, but it is a must to follow. Unless, you don’t want to have a good result. Proper preparation and proper execution are the best way to attain your desired goal for this workout, so I suggest, you read and take this into action.
