Don’t forget these 7 points for the successful installation of your AVG antivirus!

by Mark John Technician

AVG antivirus is a well-recognized name in the world of online security. It offers high-end protection for the Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices from all kinds of online threats such as Ransomware, spyware, adware, viruses and more. By regularly scanning and monitoring your device, it also prevents hacking attacks. In order to ensure your AVG will install successfully and appropriately on your device, keep the following five points in mind:

1.       System Requirements

Almost all the AVG antivirus, Internet Security, and other products come up with specific installation instructions, which further includes system requirements. As per these requirements, your computer system or any other device should have a particular OS version, RAM, ROM, and more. In the lack of the fulfillment of these specifications, you might see a number of installation errors.

2.       Updated Operating System

In addition to having the right system requirements, it is also mandatory to check whether your operating system along with other crucial applications is up-to-date or not. Updates are basically important as they add new features, functions, and the ability to fix the recent bugs automatically to the software, app, or OS.

3.       Avoid Software Conflicts

Do remember to uninstall other security software, anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-malware or any other application serving the same purpose as that of AVG antivirus. This is necessary to avoid any software conflict. Furthermore, it may slow down your computer system in addition to creating issues during installation of the AVG software.

After you uninstall the other security software, don’t forget to remove the temporary, junk, and residual files from your computer system. Always follow the stepwise procedure to perform un-installation and other processes.

Please note that the Windows Firewall gets automatically disabled when you install AVG product that comes up with built-in firewall protection.

4.       AVG license key code or activation code redemption

Before you begin the installation of AVG antivirus make sure you keep the product key ready by redeeming it from www.avg.com/retail. This key will be required at the time of download as well as during activation of the AVG product.

5.       Restart your computer system

If you have been working on your computer system for a while then it is recommended to reboot it before initiating the installation process. This will automatically quit or close all the applications running in the background and then ensure the smooth installation.

6.       Make sure you have all full access to the system

Installation of the AVG antivirus requires complete access to the device. So, make sure you have enough rights and also logged on to the computer as an administrator.

7.       Always use the latest installation file

Doesn’t matter which AVG product you are installing, verify that the installation setup file is the latest one. Get the installation file only from the official AVG website only or the installation CD you have received with the offline purchase. And if you find any difficulty in getting that file, reach out to the AVG customer support team.
