DJ Da Don: An Inspiration To Many Bereaved Children Across the Globe
by Peter Jason Content EnthusiastAs stated in the Recovery Village report, statistics have
shown that around 1.5 million children worldwide have lost either one or both
of their parents by the time they have turned 15. This has led to an alarming
growth of bereaved children on an international scale.
With so many children suffering without the guidance of a
parental figure to process out the bereavement stages so that they can heal
from their wounds, a majority of children end up on dangerous paths in life
that leave behind permanent scars and regrettable memories of the past.
Some of the common signs that have been witnessed among
children are depression, anti-social behavior, aggressive attitude, etc. These
adverse behavior fluctuations are the result of unsupervised guidance to find a
coping mechanism. Wounds do heal- if you give them time to process it and take
care of it. But if you avoid taking care of the injury, it will spread and
permanently scar you for the rest of your life.
DJ Da Don, a talented music producer who is making a name
for himself in the music industry, is no different. Like many others, he too
suffered a period of grief from the loss of a family member- and like them, he
too was headed down rough paths. But fortunately, he was lucky enough to find a
better hope for himself- through music.
Starting from humble beginnings, DJ Da Don had lost his
mother at the ripe age of nine. There was no replacement for the unconditional
love that his mother provided him even after his uncle took him in and raised
him. The only sole solace that he had was music. From a young age, he would
write his own music and sing songs to comfort himself during the dark times in
his life.
However, there were still many wounds that were left
unhealed for him, which caused him to face many hardships growing up-, and
eventually, they dragged him to a corner from where he thought he would never
be able to come out of. But he did- upon a fated meeting with a producer for
300 named Young Chop.
Once again, music pulled him in, captivating his interest as
he began to learn from the best of the best rappers, producers, and record
executives that created a solid base for him. He began to produce his own music
for Chicago rappers like Lil Durk and Sosa and bonded with fellow artists
Gucci, Rick Ross, and Young Jeezy.
