Dive into the Charisma of Bob Aubrey

by Peter Jason Content Enthusiast

There aren’t many people who can boast that they created their own global career. Bob Aubrey can.

Bob was born in 1948 and grew up in Iowa. When his father died, his mother moved the family to California. Bob had a keen desire to achieve something in life and see the world. He started his academic career with a at the University of California and decided he wanted to  understand human behavior and how we progress in life. This is the reason why he opted for a degree in psychology and philosophy. He continued his studies in France, at the University of Paris where he earned a PhD in Philosophy. He later did an MBA because he wanted to create his own company. .

Bob did justice to his dream. He went on to become an innovator in crafting certifications for human development, while at the same time being a serial entrepreneur in business and for NGOs.   Bob also spent a significant part of his career as a professor, teaching about personal development and the importance it holds in taking control of one’s life and career. Bob plans on continuing to work on human development until the age of ninety. To date, he has achieved his goal of learning from various cultures across the globe. To be precise, Bob has worked on 6 continents in over 25 countries throughout his career. He has lived in the USA, France and China and settled in Singapore where he is focusing on Asia.

Bob began his career by offering consultancy services to enterprises who wanted to up-skill their employees ability to develop themselves. This not only helped Aubrey's clients grow their performance but also allowed their employees a chance to work on their personal development. After spending nearly 2 decades as a consultant, he wanted to establish his own venture where he could directly equip individuals with the right tools for development. This idea led to the foundation of Metizo—a company that offered certified courses in personal development.

At the time of establishment, Bob did not realize the true potential of his idea. Within a few months of being operational, Metizo began to expand its operations, within 5 years, the company had a global presence. Five offices were opened in Singapore, France, and China to meet the demands of the new field of personal development in companies and in higher education. As part of the education demand, Bob taught in MBA programs at various universities and created the first personal development courses in China, at the prestigious universities of Peking and at Tsinghua.

Bob Aubrey is also known for his writing. He has published nine books in a variety of languages to date. Some of his most popular publishing includes “L'entreprise De Soi, Savoir-Faire Savior”, “Le Travail Apres La Crise: Ce Que Chacun Doit Savoir Pour Gagner Sa Vie Au Xxie Siècle”, “L'apres Mammouth: Vivre Pour Apprendre Dans La Societe Post-Educative”, “Creating Aspirational Leaders: The Global Workforce Advantage, and “Beyond The Campus: A Personal Development Guide For Chinese Youth By An International Authority”, among others.

Owing to his vast experience dealing in people development, Bob Aubrey has been appointed as a Chair of HR Committee at the European Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and as advisor to organizations like the ASEAN Foundation, the European Foundation of Management Development, and Chartered Institution of Personnel and Development and he founded the ASEAN Human Development Organization, bringing together the national HR organizations into a regional community. Bob is often called upon as a guest speaker at different conferences. All in all, he is a renowned author, an expert in the area of Human Development, and a prolific entrepreneur. He continues to turn his dreams into reality and this shows the true charisma of his character.
