Digital Photography Tips and Tricks

by Rene T. Photography and Web design
The main problem that affects digital photography is camera shake. Many photos will be ruined due to camera shake. When you are taking a photograph using the point and shoot camera the shutter remains open for a longer period. This shutter is open for such longer period to ensure that you get a good exposure. The time the shutter remains open depends on the lighting conditions. When you move your camera during this time, the photo is blurred. The camera shake problem occurs due to camera movement when the shutter speed is slow. The movement of camera will be shown as motion lines and ghost images.

Low lighting conditions

Low lighting conditions and slow shutter speeds are the reasons behind camera shake. You can solve this problem using faster shutter speeds. This is important while using hand held point and shoot camera. The one over focal length will help you to solve this problem. This rule will help you to figure out the required shutter speed. A 35mm SLR camera with a lens having a wide angle 20mm can use a shutter speed of 1/15. You can use the rule to calculate the shutter speed depending on the focal length and the type of camera used.

You can sole the problem

You can sole the problem of camera shake using camera accessories like tripod and camera flash. Camera shake occurs do to camera movement when the frame is exposed. You can fix your camera on a tripod to solve this problem. Tripod will help you to stabilize your camera for longer period. This will allow safer shutter speeds for longer period. The lighting conditions are another factor that affects shutter speed. The shutter speed will be slower when the lighting conditions are low. You can use a flash to improve the lighting conditions. The subject has to be closer to the photographer for this method to be effective.
